Understanding CalSTRS: Your Future Secured
Teachers at Making Waves Academy, you’ll be part of the highly respected California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS).
- Mandatory Participation: Most positions covered by CalSTRS are legally required to participate in the retirement system, with only a few limited exceptions for certain temporary or very part-time roles.
- Your Contribution: You’ll contribute 10.205% of your eligible earnings to CalSTRS. Our Investment: Making Waves Academy significantly contributes to your retirement with an employer match, currently set at 19.10%.
- Please note that these contribution rates are subject to change each year based on CalSTRS regulations. Your participation is mandatory for eligible positions, ensuring your long-term financial security.
